Description

Woman with baby cradleboard doll – CROW (APSAROKE)

This exceptional female doll is dressed with the characteristic Crow costume during the reservation period (1880-1900).

She is carrying the traditional baby cradleboard. On her “yoke” (the upside of the dress), the white beads represent the deer teeth usually used to decorate the real dresses. She is carrying long earrings made of tubular glass beads.

This piece was made for specific demand among the collectors when visiting the Crow agency on the reservation.
