Butterfly Woman kachina doll “Palik Mana” – HOPI


This figure appears at night dances with her counterpart, a male kachina.

On her tablita headdress we can see symbols of clouds, female rain, lightning, rainbow, earth, sky and all the greens associated with fertilization, as corn, and long life and prosperity for the Hopi people.
