This doll represents a young maiden girl dressed with the traditional attire buckskin shirt, dress and toe moccasins. Her hair is tied in the back with a 8-shaped board which indicates her virginity, all symbols decorating the costume refer to the Apache cosmogony and mythology.
This “no face” doll was probably made for a cultural exhibition or a special person.
